Sneak-Peek Super Bowl Ads
So the big game's over - and hundreds of millions have been spent on commercial production and media.
The biggest winners appear to be those that did a ton of pre-game promotion - basically using social media to provide sneak-peeks of their ads which caught on like wild-fire.
Genius as this may be - I suppose what comes to my mind as a cost-controlling marketer is WHY WOULD THEY STILL AIR THEIR SPOTS?
Ultimately the goal is exposure. Job well done - just the press alone and the viral element of their campaigns provided plenty of exposure. So much - perhaps - to the point where people might get up during their commercials since they've already seen them.
My bet for the 2011 Superbowl is that more than a few marketers are going to catch-on to this commercial preview. Ultimately, they'll create funny commercials that are supposedly for the Superbowl - but ultimately, they are really just web renditions that'll never air. That's right - they'll never air - they'll only be on the web and advertisers will save tens of millions in media.
